Fenway Park is the famed home of the Boston Red Sox, located in Boston, MA. The stadium has been the home of the team since their club opened in 1912 and is the oldest MLB stadium still in use. Fenway is also one of the few original standards ballparks still being used today. Since the park has been in existence, there have been many renovations and additions over the years to accommodate to its unique location, resulting in many quirky features such as "the Triangle," "Pesky's Pole" and the notorious "Green Monster" in left field.

"The Triangle" is an area of center field where the walls form a triangle and the deep-right center point is conventionally given as the center field distance. "Pesky's Pole" is the pole on the right field foul line, standing just 302 feet from home plate, making it the shortest porch in Major League Baseball. The pole as named after Johnny Pesky, a shortstop and coach for the Red Sox who hit homers around the pole but never off the pole. The "Green Monster" is the thirty-seven foot, two inch left field wall in the park that is a very popular target for right-handed hitters.

Fenway Park is also notorious for its diehard fans, collectively known as the "Red Sox Nation." The Red Sox have sold out every home game since May 15 of 2003 and in 2008, the park sold out its 456th consecutive game, breaking the Major League record. Fenway has not only been a notable place for baseball but has also hosted many other sporting and cultural events, including Boston Redskins and Boston Patriots football games, concerts, hockey games and political campaigns.

Fenway Park is one of the two remaining classic parks still used in Major League Baseball today (the other is Wrigley Field) and because of the many pillars supporting the upper deck, there are many obstructed view seats. Fenway is also known as a "hitters' ballpark," with its short right-field fence, narrow foul ground and generally closer-than-normal outfield fences. After 1958, the ballparks were built differently and have required larger foul lines and a center-field fence at least 400-feet from home plate.

For many years, Fenway Park had the smallest seating capacity in the major leagues but renovations have pushed the capacity up to just shy of 40,000. More seating is projected to be added in the coming years to accommodate to the many fans that show interest in going to games
