 Milwaukee Admirals tickets

Led by Mike Santorelli as top scorer, the Milwaukee Admirals are currently the #1 team in the Western Division of the AHL.  As an affiliate to the NHL's Nashville Predators, the Admirals alumni have filled not only the Predator's roster, but can be found across the NHL.  In fact, they've retired several numbers from players that made an impact on their league and hockey in general.  Phil Whitliff, was not only a player, but a coach and GM for the team and was Rookie of the Year.  Fred Berry went on to play for the Detroit Red Wings, but after retiring, returned to Milwaukee to coach the Marquette University Warriors from 1987-1991.

Founded in 1970 as the Milwaukee Wings, the group was a loosely organized amateur crew.  A year later the name was changed to The Milwaukee Admirals, and it's been a keeper, even with a variety of logo changes over the past 30+ years.  In 1973, the team joined the USHL, but moved to the IHL three years later.  This was also the time that Jane & Lloyd Pettit purchased the team.  Because Lloyd Pettit had formerly been the Chicago Blackhawks's announcer and Jane was a Milwaukee community supporter, you can appreciate their interest in ownership of the team.  Along with their interest in the team, they provided the State of Wisconsin with the Bradley Center, a state-of-the-art facility for the Admirals to play in, along with other Milwaukee sporting teams.  The Pettits left Milwaukee and all of Milwaukee's sporting teams with a great facility.

With entry into the 2000's, you see the Milwaukee Admirals move leagues once again, this time to the AHL.  In 2004, the Admirals win their first division championship, taking home the Calder Cup.  In 2005, the Admirals are purchased by a new group of investors that include Brewers owner Mark Attanasio, assistant GM Gord Ash and pitcher Ben Sheets, making the Brewers the official sponsor of the Admirals uniforms.  2006 welcomed another Division title for the Admirals.
