 Milwaukee Brewers tickets

The Milwaukee Brewers fans saw Bernie Brewer hold out for an attendance of 40,000 before he vowed to come down from atop the scoreboard at County Stadium.  It was 1970, and the team was in the midst of their inaugural season.  The team was new, and the losses were many in that first year.

The next season, they won their opening day game.  There were not too many Milwaukee Brewers highlights that year, but the win was great fun for all the folks who tailgated before the game.  Ken Sanders had over thirty saves during that season.

On the Brewer's opening day of 1973, there were 13 inches of snow covering the seats of County Stadium.  Needless to say, that game was delayed.  Jim Colborn pitched for 20 wins that year.

In 1975, the Milwaukee Brewers fans cheered for Henry Aaron.  He was playing for Milwaukee once again, and the fan attendance spiked up beyond 1.2 million that season.

The All Star Game was held at County Stadium that year, and things were looking up.

The Brewers made it all the way to the World Series in 1982.  St. Louis and Milwaukee were both known for Beer, and after the World Series, they were known for their baseball.

It took a win in the last game of the season to lock the Brewers into the playoffs.  From there, they took off.  Milwaukee lost the series in seven games.

In the years that followed 1982, the Milwaukee Brewers struggled.  The highlights were more about personal records.  Robin Yount had his 3000th hit in 1992, Greg Vaughn made the All Star team in 1993, and the team played the longest 1-0 game in baseball history. The talk of a new stadium came closer to reality, as the financing plan is set in stone.

In 2001, Brewers fans were delighted to walk through the gates of Miller Park.  The new stadium was completed after a tragic delay.  Three ironworkers were killed during construction.  A section of the new roof was too heavy for the crane that was putting it in place, and it crashed into the bowl of the stadium.  Fans will find a statue that honors those ironworkers on the Miller Park grounds.

The Brewers made the playoffs in 2008.  Fans were once again excited to cheer the team on to victory in the post season.  The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card series, and went on to win the World Series.  Fans are hopeful for a successful 2009 series.
