The Milwaukee Brewers franchise began when the Seattle Pilots were sold to an investment group that included Bud Selig.  It was spring of 1970, and the team was in a rush to get on the field for the regular season.  They used their old Pilots uniforms for the first few games, but they were Brewers all the way.

The Brewers management spent the early years building a competitive team.  The fans came in large numbers to watch young Robin Yount, and Gorman Thomas.  What truly drew the crowds was the return of Hank Aaron.  Hank Aaron hit his record home run while in a Brewers uniform.  He played in 137games that year.

It would take a few more years before the Milwaukee Brewers would be contenders.  Don Money, Cecil Cooper, Gorman Thomas, Rollie Fingers, and others helped lead the team to the 1982 World Series.  Milwaukee played St. Louis in the "Suds Series."  Milwaukee lost the series in seven games.  The fans greeted the Brewer players warmly, when they returned to Milwaukee.

The Brewers moved over to the National League during the expansion of 1998.  There would be no more pitch hitters at County Stadium.  Around that same time, the funding for a new stadium started in earnest.  Local Wisconsin leaders found a way to rally support for a five-county tax.  Those funds were used to build Miller Park, the new home for the Milwaukee Brewers.

In 2001, the Brewers took to the field in Miller Park.  Fans no longer had to worry about rainouts.  The retractable roof had a few problems in the early years.  The ballpark was not made for winter games.  Its climate control system is better suited to handle temperature swings of twenty degrees or less.  Milwaukee Brewers fans love their ballpark.
