The Pabst Theater has been entertaining patrons since the late 1880's. Frederick Pabst saw his first theater go up in flames, but he replaced it with The Pabst very quickly. For its age, it does have some very modern features. The hydraulic orchestra pit is a fine example of a modern detail you will find there. The Pabst hosts rock shows, theater, and acoustic acts on a regular basis. The venue cold be considered to be circular in shape. The balconies hang over in a manner that brings it closer to the stage, and the theater seats over 1300 patrons on any given night. You cannot help but notice the sparkling chandelier centered just perfectly above the orchestra seats. The Pabst Theater has undergone four major renovations. The biggest renovation came in the late 1970's, when it was restored to the original theme from 1885. When the restoration was complete, the theater resembled the opera house of old. The theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
