Alcides Escobar started as shortstop in late August, of 2009. He lived up to what the scouts reported. Escobar would make stupendous plays, followed up with questionable throws. In just under 40 games as a Milwaukee Brewer, his batting average was above the .300 mark. If he would find the way to wait for the right pitch, he could increase his walks. With his running speed, he could focus on bunting. That might help put a lead off hitter on base.
