Darrell Porter began his career as a Milwaukee Brewer. This young catcher would spend seventeen years in Major League baseball. The Brewers were a new franchise, and they needed a catcher. Porter was their man. The first two seasons, Porter found himself with limited playing time. After that, his batting average stayed above .233. He had 369 hits, fifty homers, and 215 RBI’s in the next four years.

Darrell had respectable numbers as a Brewer, and made it to the All Star roster in 1974. As a Royal, he went on to play better ball, and made the All Star team four more times. Darrell struggled with drugs in the late 1970’s, got clean, found God, and became a born again Christian.
