More Info
Dave Bush just completed his first full Major League season last year, after making his initial Major League debut in 2004 with the Toronto Blue Jays. His performance with the Milwaukee Brewers continued what he started to show on the field in college at Wake Forest. It was there that he not only graduated with a double major, but was awarded First Team All-American, Louisville Slugger Player of the Year Watch List, First Team All-ACC, preseason ACC Pitcher of the Year (Baseball America) and Top Senior Pro Prospect. Dave Bush was named best closer in college baseball by several national publications.

For the Milwaukee Brewers, Bush set career highs in every statistical category including a Brewers team-high 12 wins. Of the right-handed pitching crew for the Milwaukee Brewers, Dave Bush led with 166 strikeouts. With a career total 22 wins and 444 pitched-innings under his belt, the future looks good for Dave Bush with the Milwaukee Brewers.

By late August of 2007, Dave Bush had a record of 10-9. He didn’t possess the same kind of numbers when compared to 2006. Bush found himself in a tough situation by late September. He had gone nearly three weeks without a win going to the home stretch of the 2007 season. For the start of 2008, The Milwaukee Brewers and Dave Bush agreed to a one-year contract that will pay Bush $2.55 million. The new contract is well above the $400,00+ Dave Bush earned last year.

Dave Bush was moved down to AAA Nashville at the end of April.

He made it back to the starting rotation for the 2008 season. His record was 9-10 and he pitched in 31 games for Milwaukee. He had a strong finish to the 2008 season and pitched in the only Brewers post-season win.

Dave bush is looking to bounce back in 2009. He struggled with a 4.18 ERA. His record of nine wins and ten losses was not quite as good as the past two years.

For the first month of 2009, Dave Bush has played in seven games and has one win. His ERA is going in the right direction, and sits at 4.05. After being hit on his pitching arm during a June game, Bush's throwing has never been the same. After a test showed a micro-tear in Bush's tricep, he did not play for two months. Upon his return, Bush did not fully regain strength in his pitching arm. In seven starts since his return, Bush only had two good ones. In fact, he was kept out of his last start. Bush posted a 6.38 ERA, the worst among pitchers in the National League.
