Felipe Lopez
Felipe López is a Puerto Rican native who has played for various MLB teams and was recently added to the Milwaukee Brewers roster. López was 1st round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1998 MLB Draft. He has played for several teams during his professional career. López played on the National League All-Star game while playing with the Cincinnati Reds after 23 home runs, 15 stolen bases and a .291 batting average in 2005. After leaving the Reds in 2006, he went on to play with the Washington Nationals where he played both shortstop and second base. He was released to the St. Louis Cardinals in August of 2008 where he briefly played left field for the team and became a free agent at the end of the season. He was picked up in December by the Arizona Diamondbacks and played well, with a 25 RBI and 44 runs before being traded to the Brewers in July of 2009 Lopez filled in the gaps left by Rickie Weeks, moving into second base and jumping in at the top of the batting order. In 151 games, Lopez batted .310 and was one of the league's top hitters with 187 hits. Lopez struggled a bit in the field this season, making eight errors. Despite this fact, the 2009 season was Lopez's best season so far. Currently, he is a free agent. © 2010 MilwaukeeBrewersTicket.net Terms of Service |
