More Info
Left-fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers, Gabe Gross was formerly a starting quarterback for the Auburn football team, having played football, baseball and basketball in high school. This athleticism helped develop his ability to bat left-handed and throw right-handed.

Gross was drafted 15th overall in the 2001 amateur draft by the Toronto Blue Jays and made his Major league debut in 2004. Then he was traded to his current home with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2005 with Dave Bush and Zach Johnson for first baseman Lyle Overbay and Ty Taubenheim.

With a pinch-hit game-winning home run debut for the Milwaukee Brewers in April 2006, hopes were spurred among fans. Through the 2006 season, Gross as 107 hits, 13 home runs and a .249 batting average.

Gabe Gross is married to Kelly. His father, Lee Gross played NFL Football for the New Orleans Saints.

Gabe will play left field alternating with Tony Gwynn, Jr. Gabe Kapler, and Drew Anderson for 2008. While Mike Cameron serves his 25-game suspension, Gabe Gross will take over his playing time. This will give Gabe a chance to show the Brewers management that he deserves a regular spot on the day-to-day roster.
