The Brewers acquired Gerut in late May in a trade for centerfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. Gerut did not accomplish month in the first two months with the Brewers with a batting average of .189. In the second portion of the season, Gerut was able to get his average up to .236 in 161 at bats, five home runs, and 21 RBi. Gerut finished the season with a batting average of .283.
