Burns made his major league debut in 2005 with the Houston Astros. He joined the Brewers in June of this season from Class AAA Nashville to fill in for injured starting pitchers. His pitching was inconsistent and went 3-5 with a 5.75 ERA in 15 games. He allowed 10 home runs in just under 52 innings.
