Mike Rivera was brought up from Triple-A Nashville in 2006 where he batted .296. He managed to grab a Pacific Coast League All-Star slot. Milwaukee bought his contract in July of 2006. During his 46 games with The Brewers in 2006 he started 39 times. Prior to his being called up for the Brewers, he had played a total of 62 major league games with Detroit and San Diego.

Mike made the 2008 Milwaukee Brewers line up. He played in 21 games. He had a respectable .306 batting average, and struck out just ten times. He is now backing up Kendall once again, and picked up where he left off. He's currently batting .308.

Unlike last season, Rivera did not show much promise as a back up catcher in the 2009 season. He batted a .288 this season, his worst average since joining the team in 2006. He did perform better than comrade Jason Kendall but that will not be enough for him to reach starting position for next season. We look forward to seeing Rivera improve and show us what hes really got in 2010.
